History

The administration of the Camarines Norte State College- Office of Student Affairs was first vested in its officer-in-charge, Dr. Eduardo M. Ubaña, until the appointment of its first director, Dr. Claudia V. Mabalot on March, 1998. During Dr. Ubana’s leadership, the development of student’s liberal minds were encouraged but sense of responsibility were significantly accentuated.  On the other hand, Dr. Mabalot, with her guidance and counseling background persuasively influenced students to not only enhanced their knowledge and skills but also abide with the newly established rules and policies.  Her incumbency from March, 1998 to August 1999 can be described as ‘disciplining yet nurturing leadership style.

The College Registrar, Mrs. Luly Z. Quinones has taken oven over the position as the OSA Director from August 1999 to June 2000who whose experience as the College Registrar then has established a warm rapport with the students.

From June 2000 to December 2001, the appointments of the OSS Directors Mrs. Aida V. Mabeza, Mrs. Fe M. Avellana, Mrs. Sonia S. Carbonell marked new milestones for the students services. While on January 2002 to February, 2003, Mrs. Fe M. Avellana was reappointed as OSS Director. Follower her, was the administration of Dr. Violeta A. Yanto whose collaboration with students has inspired her to be the subject of her paper on student services.

The next OSS Director, Dr. Sonia S. Carbonell has revitalized the student handbook. She has served the student populace from January 2006 to June ,2008.  When she was appointed as the Vice President for Academic Affairs, she was superseded by Josephine P. Saynes who then act as the OSS Director.

On June 2009, Mr. Renato N. Abrera assumed as the director of the Office of Student Services. His term has produced remarkable achievements in the area of student services such as remarkable increase on the number of scholars, negotiation and building connection with students and drafting student policies relative to their welfare. He has stayed in the office until his resignation last July 2012.

Succeding his position, was the Student Development Unit Chairperson, Mr. Renato T. Pancho. His term was focused on promoting a socially just and humanistic style of leadershi. This was realized through consultations with the students and settling student issues and concerns peacefully.  During this time, the office was renamed into Student Services and Development.

Now, the Office of Student Services and Development with its  inevitable zest  towards excellence through providing integrated student services , collaborative and  unwavering support of its new director, Ms. Michelle S. Carbonell and staff’, the realization of preparing the CNSC students to be productive , globally competitive with positive values will be deemed possible.
